Nella serie di libri regionali sui siti storici del Ladakh, il terzo volume "Siti storici dello Zanskar" è un tentativo di identificare e documentare in modo completo i siti storici dello Zanskar, la regione più meridionale del Ladakh, dove si ritiene abbia avuto origine la moderna disciplina della Tibetologia. L'attuale indagine sullo Zanskar ha portato alla luce quasi duecentosettanta siti storici, tra cui monasteri, fortezze, chorten (stupa), incisioni rupestri, incisioni buddiste, templi, grotte, ecc. La documentazione è frutto della collaborazione tra l'INTACH Listing Cell e l'INTACH Ladakh Chapter, ed è stata condotta dal Dott. Quentin Devers, ricercatore presso il Centro Nazionale Francese per la Ricerca Scientifica (CNRS) presso il Centro di Ricerca sulle Civiltà dell'Asia Orientale (CRCAO) di Parigi.

In the series of the regional books on the historical sites of Ladakh, the third volume “Historical Sites of Zanskar” is an effort to identify and comprehensively document the historical sites of Zanskar, the southernmost region of Ladakh, where the discipline of modern Tibetology is considered to have been formed. The present survey of Zanskar brought to light nearly two hundred seventy historical sites covering monasteries, forts, chortens (stupas), petroglyphs, Buddhist carvings, temples, caves, etc. The documentation is a collaborative effort of INTACH Listing Cell and INTACH Ladakh Chapter, which has been carried out by Dr Quentin Devers, a researcher at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) within the Research Centre for East Asian Civilizations (CRCAO), Paris. |
